The area between Worksop and Mansfield is known as ‘The Dukeries’. This trail runs across north Nottinghamsire to the Derbyshire and Lincolnshire borders. It takes in the former ducal estates of Clumber, Welbeck and Thoresby.
This trail takes you across the dramatic Fledborough Viaduct over the River Trent, along the disused railway track through Harby, Sherwood Forest, and past the historic Manor House at Harby and Thoresby Hall.
Covering a total of 32 miles, the route has been designed so that a round trip can be made using the train. The route consists of paths along a disused railway line, public rights of way and roads. The entire route is suitable for cyclist sand walkers, and sections can be used by horse-riders.
