Snow on the Big Track
Channel 4 Newsreader Jon Snow checks out Nottingham’s Big Track
The Big Wheel was delighted to welcome a new cyclist to Nottingham’s infrastructure this week – Channel 4 newsreader and journalist Jon Snow.
Mr Snow made a special appointment in his diary to be at the Nottingham Playhouse to look through the Big Track car free cycle route – a Big Wheel map which provides a 10 mile circular cycle route. Over 55,000 copies of the map have been distributed and copies are going fast.
The Big Track runs near many of Nottingham’s major sites – Trent Bridge cricket ground and the two football clubs, Castle Marina, Riverside Retail Park, Experian, Boots, Wollaton Park, The Castle, Nottingham Station and, of course, the city centre. Extensions at either end of The Big Track run out to the National Watersports Centre at Holme Pierrepont and the Attenborough nature reserve and new centre.
Jon Snow is an avid cyclist and is President of the Cyclists’ Tour Club. We hope that he enjoys cycling in Nottingham as much as we do!
