NCT helps students get on the bus
Bigger, better and more frequent services to the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University now available
Students and staff at the University of Nottingham have been tripping over themselves to use the Unilink 34 between the City Centre and University Park. In fact, an extra 100,000 people caught the bus to the uni in the last financial year – up nearly 46% from the year before!
So NCT are giving students and staff more of what they want. They’ve seen how popular the service is and so they’re making it even better! Improvements mean that the route will remain the same – taking in Maid Marian Way, the Broadmarsh, the Victoria Centre area and the Old Market Square but the Unilink 34 frequency has been increased so that it’s even more convenient for getting around the City Centre.
The Unilink 34 will run every 10 minutes – and the buses are getting even bigger too! Larger single deck buses will be used on the route which means that you’ll have less time to wait and more chance of getting a seat - great stuff! And, thanks to help from the University of Nottingham, they’re also trying out a new winter vacation service for the holiday period.
But the good news doesn’t stop there - NCT are also creating the new Unilink 31, which will run directly into the Jubilee Campus. The Unilink 31 buses will run every 20 minutes between 8am and 6pm, Monday - Friday during term time. All the buses will be low floor, easy access with direct links to Victoria Centre and Upper Parliament Street.
For students of Nottingham Trent University, there’s also a dedicated route for staff and students – the Unilink 4 – which runs frequent services between the Clifton Campus and City Centre sites.
And, if that wasn’t enough of an incentive to use the services there are also special rates available for travel during the academic term, as well as yearly travel passes. Or if you want to use your staff or student card as a bus pass, no problem - this can be done at Card Services (NTU) and Pioneer Travel Shop (UN). And if you need NCT info delivered direct to the door of your student halls, they’re even doing that for you!
