ONE8 celebrates global culture in the East Midlands
On September 27th from 12 – 6pm the fantastic, fun and – best of all – free ONE8 festival is going to take over Nottingham Castle. The One Nation for Everyone 2008 (ONE8 for short) is a celebration of culture in our global community. All of the amazing activities are being provided by young people from youth, arts and heritage organisation from across the East Midlands. There’s everything from arts exhibitions to graffiti workshops, circus skills workshops to poetry performances and that’s just for starters…
If you want a chance to strut your stuff and show off your musical expertise you can take part in the ONE Factor – a battle of the bands for young musicians. Or if you think you’ve got what it takes to be the next big thing in the business world prove it in the entrepreneurial challenge – One8 Speed Dragons. For budding young Spielbergs there are film screenings and film making workshops. If you’re passionate about the planet there’s an ethical and green market place for information and green activities.
Simply put there’s something for everyone at this year’s One8 so get the date in your diary and we’ll see you there!
To celebrate this fantastic event the Big Wheel is giving away 10 Kangaroo cards so whether you get the bus, tram or train it’s just a hop, skip and a jump to the Castle. with your name and address with the subject “ONE8” to be in with a chance of winning a ticket.
