From Nottingham to Leeds - direct
New direct service from Nottingham to Leeds introduced on 14 December
Northern Rail are giving people in Nottingham and Leeds an early Christmas present this year – a brand new hourly direct train service. Starting on 14 December, this will connect the two cities for the first time.
Leeds is a lively city with excellent shopping, nightlife and cultural attractions – but the new link isn’t just to help you have a good time. It’s also set to make life easier for commuters, as Carolyn Watson from Northern Rail explains:
“We started running a fast service between Sheffield and Leeds a couple of years ago and we saw quite a move from people who’d previously commuted along the M1 to the train and hopefully we’ll see a similar move with this new service.”
The journey will take roughly two hours and extra trains have been brought in to help run a good service. Excitingly for cyclists they can take their bikes on these trains for no extra charge and no reservations are needed. That means you can enjoy Leeds by bike without any hassle. We can’t wait!
