The Big Wheel goes to the Cricket

Monday 28th August 1pm at Trent Bridge Cricket Ground
On Bank Holiday Monday The Big Wheel is teaming up with Notts County Cricket Club for a family fun day to promote transport to and from the match by bus, walking or cycling. Ticket holders to Notts v Glamorgan match can expect fun and excitement on and off the pitch with a whole host of activities planned.

There will be fun and frolics with a whole menagerie of mascots. The Big Wheel’s famous Kangaroo, which promotes the kangaroo pass for bus, trams and trains, will be joined by The Big Wheel hamster. And Notts CCC own mascot, Nuts the squirrel, will be there too.

Fans will be kept entertained by actors dressed as school crossing patrols. Children of any age are sure to be enthralled by our professional storyteller and will get a chance to be creative with modelling clay in the drop in art workshop.

But the Big Wheel has a serious side too. As well as promoting the health benefits of walking and cycling, there will also be a five-a-day stall to help children and adults towards their five pieces of fruit and veg a day. And you can combine healthy eating with exercise by pedalling for a free fruit drink on the BlendaVenda.

Anyone with a view to the future can visit the fortune-teller in the Caravan of Truth. For those not used to getting on their bikes The Big Wheel is offering a helping hand. We have provided bike racks to leave your bike safely and there will be Dr Bike on hand to heal bikes in need of some TLC.

If you are interested in joining the fun and watching some cricket, then you can still buy tickets on the Notts CCC website or at the gate on the day. Now all that’s left to do is hope for some bank holiday sunshine!
