TRANSACT FUNDING CRITERIA

Essential information on TransACT applications:

Your organisation's location will dictate which council funds your application. Those firms located within the city of Nottingham will be funded by Nottingham City Council, those located in Greater Nottingham (Gedling, Broxtowe, and Rushcliffe) and the rest of Nottinghamshire will be funded by Nottinghamshire County Council. Funding is subject to the following standard terms as set out by Nottinghamshire County Council and Nottingham City Council below:

  • TransACT funding is not available to any organisation required by a planning condition or an obligation to produce a Travel Plan. Funding may be recalled if an organisation has received TransACT funding and, within twelve months, submits a planning application which will require the production of a Travel Plan.
  • To be eligable you must be located within Nottingham or Nottinghamshire, you should employ between 20 - 250 staff (full time equivalent). In addition, applicants should not exceed a £25million annual turnover and should not have more than 25% of capital or voting rights owned by another company.
  • It is understood that your organisation is committed to the on-going promotion of the travel plan and to the relevant annual monitoring; making this information available to TransACT each year.
  • The 'works' shall be defined as those facilities, improvements and systems forming the bid for TransACT grant aid, and as agreed with Nottinghamshire County Council or Nottingham City Council.
  • By accepting the grant monies, the directors will thereby certify that to the best of their knowledge, information and belief the information given to Nottinghamshire County Council/Nottingham City Council relating to themselves, the company and its business is true and accurate and that all relevant material, facts and information have been disclosed.
  • The directors undertake that the whole of the grant monies will be utilised solely for the purposes of the works as specified to Nottinghamshire County Council/Nottingham City Council.
  • The directors undertake that the company will comply with all relevant statutory requirements (including but not limited to the Companies Acts, current Employment and current Health and Safety legislation) at all times during the currency of the County Council's financial assistance.
  • The company and its directors undertake to notify Nottinghamshire County Council/Nottingham City Council within seven days of any intended change of address of the company's business.
  • In the event that the operating base of the company's business is relocated outside the County of Nottinghamshire, within a period of three years from completion of the works, the grant will become repayable in full forthwith and, to the extent that it remains unpaid, will thereafter attract interest at the undiscounted rate.
  • In the event that the works are no longer used for their intended purpose within a period of three years from the completion of the works, the grant will become repayable in full forthwith and, to the extend that it remains unpaid, will thereafter attract interest at the undiscounted rate.
  • Once all work has been done and items purchased, it is a condition of funding being granted that a site inspection including the purchased items, be conducted by, and to the satisfaction of, the TransACT Co-coordinator or other appropriate appointed person.
  • Once the work has been undertaken and you have received all invoices and proof of full payment for all items/services, please submit a copy of them together with a your company invoice for the same total amount made out to "Nottinghamshire County Council" or "Nottingham City Council" [see note above] and the claim form. These invoices together with proof of full payment for all goods purchased should be forwarded to me at the address shown above. In this way, the TransACT funding process operates by way of reimbursement from the Council to the applicant subject to proof of payment being provided.

Please note that VAT cannot be claimed from the Councils.
