Nottingham now has its own Walkit pages to help you to get around Nottingham on foot.

Walkit is an online urban route planner, which provides walking route maps between locations within the City. The site also tells users how far the route is, how long it will take (at a slow, medium or fast pace), how many calories will be burnt and even approximately how much CO2 will be saved by not taking the car, bus or tram.

There’s also a choice of A to B and circular routes – perfect for work and leisure. For A to B routes, you can  can select either the quickest route, or a ‘less busy’ route that will try and avoid the busiest roads and favour paths through parks or by rivers instead.  For circular routes, you can select a journey time from 15 minutes to 4 hours (depending on how energetic you’re feeling!) There’s something to suit everyone – from a quick lunchtime walk to a more adventurous urban expedition! Each route also has an incline graph to show how hilly the walk is.

walkit.com was launched in 2006 to encourage more people to get out and about on foot.  This award-winning service is now active in over 25 UK towns and cities, with over 100,000 people using the Walkit service each month. So why not give it a try?  Simply visit www.walkit.com/cities/nottingham and enter your journey details.
