Taking time out on the tram

As well as being quick, easy and great value for money the tram gives you the chance to have a bit of time to yourself.  We’ve put together some great ideas for spending those minutes saved by letting someone else do the driving:

Read

Do you find you love to read, but never quite find the time to do it?  Well, here’s your chance to catch up on the classics, swot up on the news or enjoy an adventure.  Just make sure you don’t get lost in the story and miss your stop!

Learn something new

Of course if you don’t manage to get a seat then reading might be a tricky task (especially if you’ve got a newspaper!).  So why not try learning something new?  Lots of people have tried their hand at learning languages when they’re on the go, but there’s so much more you can try.  Using an MP3 player, you can listen to lectures from world-class professors at top universities, and some will even let you download classes.  You could listen to radio documentaries about current affairs, or podcasts about world history.  Whatever your interests there is likely to be something out there for you – just get online and search until you find something you fancy.

Listen to your favourite tunes

You don’t have to use your MP3 to swot up your skills; you could just listen to some great music and unwind.  Make sure you keep the volume low though so you don’t bother other passengers!

…and relax

And of course you could just take the time to relax.  There are lots of simple breathing exercises you can try to help you calm down.  Or just drift off into a daydream and watch the world go by…
