Cycling in Sherwood Forest

Sherwood Forest has long been known as the home of Robin Hood, but did you know it’s also home to some fantastic cycle routes?

Local tourism partnership Experience Nottinghamshire has created two great new leaflets to showcase what the area can offer cyclists.  The two new 20 mile circular routes follow existing cycle paths, taking in the sights of Sherwood Forest and surrounding areas along the way.

They are perfect for a fun day out with the kids or as training for a bigger challenge like the Great Notts Bike Ride.  They’re mostly flat but do have the occasional hill – great if you want a leisurely ride with a few challenges.  They are designed to take a full day with plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful scenery and fun things to do.  But if you’re considerate to other cyclists, there’s nothing to stop you from speeding around in a few hours!

These routes are great whether it’s family fun or a workout you’re after.  But don’t just take our word for it, try them out for yourself!
