Events

We organise and support loads of events to encourage you all to get on your bike. Keep checking the news pages or sign up to our newsletter for up-to-date information.

Bike Week is an annual week of events that encourage people to get out there and get cycling.  It’s a national scheme, but details of local events can be found on their website.

There may be no such thing as a free lunch, so how about having a free breakfast instead? At the Wheelie Big Breakfast anyone who cycles to the venue (usually, but not always, the Old Market Square) gets a free breakfast as a “thank you” for all their hard work.

The Great Notts Bike Ride is a chance to challenge yourself and cycle like you never have before (unless you did it last year!) With different routes and course lengths to suit all ages and abilities, from laps on a closed circuit to a mammoth 100 mile trek, there’s something to suit everyone.  And if you really want to polish your halo, there are sponsorship forms available so you can raise money for charity as you ride your bike.

Rural Rides is an ongoing programme of free guided rides designed for the casual cyclist organised by Nottinghamshire County Council.

Unfortunately you’ve missed out on Wheels of Fortune: The Story of Raleigh Cycles of Nottingham at Lakeside Arts Centre. This major new exhibition ran from 12th April – 3rd August 2008, telling the story of the Raleigh Cycle Company – the global phenomenon that began right here in Nottingham.  Fingers crossed they’ll bring it back next year!
