Greater Nottingham Transport Partnership
The Greater Nottingham Transport Partnership (GNTP) represents both the private and public sectors. It provides advice and support on all the key aspects of transport planning. The GNTP works to help implement the Local Transport Plan (LTP) which is produced by Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County Councils. The GNTP also lobbies locally, regionally and nationally to bring in extra funding. It has been recognised nationally for its work.
As a ‘Strategic Action Team’ of the Greater Nottingham Partnership, the GNTP has responsibility for granting and administering funding for some transport measures on behalf of EMDA (East Midlands Development Agency). One of its major projects is The Big Wheel, a campaign to explain the Local Transport Plan and to encourage green travel.
The GNTP is currently chaired by Gary Smerdon-White and includes representatives from across the public, private, local authority, voluntary and community sectors.
Organisations who currently sit on the GNTP Board include the City and County Councils, NHS Nottingham City, Boots, Experian, the Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce, the City Centre Retailers Association, the Nottinghamshire Rural Community Council and the Federation of Small Businesses.
