The Hub Area Map

Where there is a world class transport interchange, world class businesses will want to come. We have to be planning for the future now by putting in place the developments that will support more housing, shops and offices.

The rail station is at The Hub of a number of key sites. It will help to enlarge the city centre, extending it southwards, along with the new £400 million Broadmarsh shopping centre.

To the east it will connect with the Eastside regeneration zone, including a £900 million new development of homes and businesses built around an inspiring island water feature.

To the south and west economically disadvantaged areas like the Meadows will be linked to the city centre by the two new lines of the tram, NET phase 2. They will pass through the Meadows and link to major employment sites such as the Ng2 business park, already home to prestige companies. Experience shows that where the tram runs, regeneration follows.

Then there is the site of the station itself, where we can expect to see major new developments take advantage of such excellent and wide-reaching transport links. Already the station has proved a major attraction for international companies like Capital One and for new hotels. We can expect many more to follow – The Hub will be at the heart of this new Nottingham.
