Services

The Big Wheel has teamed up with the Transport Strategy and Public Transport teams at Nottingham City Council to give businesses and organisations in Nottingham a special service tailored to their particular needs.

The Transport Strategy team provides support and advice to help organisations wanting to improve their travel offer by developing a travel plan. We are happy to share the latest information, experience and guidance relating to all transport and sustainability issues. From site visits and guidance documents to bespoke mapping and analysis we are here to help you to improve access and travel for your staff, visitors and customers. For more information contact Matthew Price.

For a start, you can put a link through to www.travelineeastmidlands.co.uk on our website, so that your staff can plan their trips online.
You might also want to tell them about our mobile phone travel informer – a service that lets you download bus timetable information direct to your mobile phone.

Other services available include:
•    Free on-line staff travel surveys
•    Grant funding for SMEs (subject to availability)
•    RideWise cycle training
•    Nottinghamshare car share club

The Public Transport team also provides all sorts of helpful services – many of them free. Just email your company name, the number of employees and your postcode to Laraine Reckless, and she will get back to you.

Some of the services you could benefit from include:

  • Relevant bus timetables sent to your office, with an additional free service to keep them stocked up and updated.
  • A free information board with a bespoke map showing your business, bus stops and bus times, with an information holder for leaflets.
  • Ticketing deals, if a good proportion of your staff use bus or park & ride services.
  • Electronic information displays at the bus stops nearest to your site, so that your staff know when the next few buses are coming.
  • For a small charge, a travel planning kiosk could also be installed at your site, providing journey planning via the internet.
  • And if you’re thinking of moving offices within or into the City, let Laraine Reckless at the City Council know. The Public Transport team might even be able to install a bus stop for you at your new site.
