E.ON has introduced an organisation-wide green travel scheme to encourage employees to reduce the impact of their travelling on the environment through car sharing, the provision of green travel parking spaces and monetary incentives for traveling more sustainably. Recent initiatives at their Sherwood Business Park Site at Annesley include:
- A significant increase in designated car sharing spaces and the number of vehicles car sharing each day through E.ON’s internal car sharing resource
- Increased numbers of employers travelling to work each day on company coaches and free bus routes
- Eco driving courses for car share drivers, helping them to drive in a more fuel efficient way
- Rewards for regular cyclists and double points promotions for those traveling sustainably
- Bespoke intranet pages highlighting sustainable travel options available to employees
