Access to Leisure
Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County Councils have adopted access to leisure, culture and tourism as an additional strand to our accessibility planning work because of the importance of the leisure and tourism sector for the local economy.
Local leisure facilities such as parks, open spaces, sports and leisure centres provide places where people can enjoy more active lifestyles, while social and leisure activities are important for mental health and wellbeing. Improving access to leisure, culture and tourism, thus, directly supports work aimed at addressing health inequalities.

"I can only get out by taxi, otherwise I stay in which is very lonely. The vouchers really help me as I cannot walk to the bus."

"Since having the vouchers it has made me more independent plus giving me freedom to go out more. Also not relying on family for transport, they are not always available."
