With Bike Week well underway, here at the Big Wheel we thought we’d remind you about some of the highlights of this fantastic festival of cycling fun. Between now right through to the 27th June there are loads of events designed to inspire and encourage you to give cycling a go. Just think, it’s a cheap and easy way to get fit, help the planet and have fun – all at the same time!
- Wheelie Big Breakfast, 24th June 8am – 10am, Old Market Square
Nottingham’s annual free breakfast event for cyclists. Come and visit us for a free breakfast and find out more about cycling in Greater Nottingham. If you haven’t registered already, visit: www.thebigwheel.org.uk/bigbreakfast and enter our prize draw.
- Cycle Forum, 24th June 10:30am, Council House
Join us straight after the Wheelie Big Breakfast to hear about our plans for cycling in Greater Nottingham and let us know how you can contribute.
- FREE Cycle Maintenance Workshops, Saturday 26th June
The Big Wheel is hosting FREE cycle maintenance workshops for cyclists to learn more about cycle maintenance and repair. Qualified instructors from Ridewise, Nottingham’s very own cycle training company will be on hand to run you through the basics and offer instruction.
Booking closes at 4pm on Friday 25th June
You can still choose from the following maintenance sessions:
- 1.30pm – 3pm
- 3pm – 4.30pm
Places are limited. If you would like to attend, please email bigwheel@gnpartnership.org.uk with bike workshop in the subject bar. Remember to include your contact details and preferred session. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Follow Me, 27th June 2:30pm, Broadway Media Centre
Round off Bike Week in style by whizzing down to Broadway Cinema and Media Centre to catch Follow Me – a unique film fresh from the Glasgow International Bike Film Festival featuring some of the most talented and exciting mountain bikers in the world. A must see for film and bike fans alike.
