Busy, busy, busy…

Well, I think the title says it all, this past week’s been all go at Big Wheel HQ, as we rushed around organising the hugely successful GNTP Forum. Star speaker Greg Nugent of Eurostar had us all on tenterhooks, waiting to hear if his plane from Thailand had arrived on time, luckily he had the good sense to avoid going through Heathrow’s new Terminal 5 so there were no issues! And his speech was a truly inspiring explanation of how St Pancras International transformed Eurostar’s fortunes, he really put forward the case for making The Hub happen in a easy to understand and engaging way.

But there’s no rest for the wicked as they say, we’re gearing up to several different walking and cycling related events in May and June (Walk Week and Wheelie Big Breakfast just for starters) … among many other things. Keep checking The Big Wheel website and the news page for more events and developments. Which reminds me, I put an article online only last week about free local bus travel for over 60s. I spotted on the news this morning that someone has already managed to travel from Lands End to John O’Groats for free, and he was planning to turn around and go back again. He was definitely keen on the scheme :)

One final note: we have a new member of staff. Lucy Grierson started on 31 March, and is covering while Kay is off on her maternity leave. We always knew it’d be hard to fill Kay’s shoes, but Lucy’s doing an excellent job and we’ll enjoy working with her over the coming months.
