Jon Snow, Conferences and plenty of changes

Published on November 9, 2007

Well, it’s November already. I’m starting to get increasingly concerned about the rapid onset of Christmas. I think this year I’ll take the ‘head in the sand’ approach and do my shopping at the last minute in a mad panic.

Speaking of mad panics it’s all change here at the Big Wheel. Our longest serving and pivotal Big Wheeler will soon be leaving us – Lynn Hanna is off to pastures new and has a very exciting time ahead of her at the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Nottingham. We’re over the moon for Lynn, but at the same time sad to be parting company with such a fabulous colleague and friend.

So the end of 2007 marks not only the end of another year but also the end of a Big Wheel era. I’ll try not to get too sentimental….but I fear that it’s on the cards!

And, we had a really successful event this week with the Core Cities conference. We were involved in a breakfast meeting before the conference which was very well attended and we also had the privilege of having Jon Snow – the Channel 4 broadcaster and journalist – meet us to take a look at the Big Track map.

There’s a picture on our homepage of Jon Snow reading the Big Track. I’ve already sent it to my mum and she’s very proud! :-)
