Fun things to do during the Easter holidays

What are you doing this Easter holiday?  If you’re staying in Nottingham and stuck for things to do why not take our advice and try some of these eggciting activities?

The Big Wheel team will be out riding their bikes, going for walks and generally enjoying the fresh air.  It’s a free way to get fit and feel good and you might find that it helps you and your kids to sleep at night.  And there are lots of great places to get out on your bike or take a stroll right here in Greater Nottingham.

The Big Track is a fantastic waterside cycling and walking route.  It’s flat and best of all car-free – perfect for whole family to enjoy.  You can order one of the fantastic free Big Track booklets by emailing us.  This is much more than just a map it also tell you all about the history of the route and wildlife you’ll spot along the way.  Or if you’re more technically minded we’ve got an interactive map online, just view it here.  As well as the map you’ll find the Big Track Podcast, which is free to download.  This audio tour of the Big Track features history, interviews and songs from local bands.

Wollaton Park is another great spot for getting out and about.  There are five hundred acres of gardens and parkland for you to explore.  Or if the skies turn grey you can investigate the beautiful rooms of Wollaton Hall, the Natural History Museum, Industrial Museum or Yard Gallery.

If organised activities are what you’re after Green’s Windmill has a simply fantastic programme of events including an Easter egg hunt!  Check their website for the details.

We hope you have a brilliant Easter break, try not to eat too many chocolate eggs!

If you’re still stuck for fun things to do why not try exploring Nottingham by tram?  Or there’s two fantastic all day cycling routes out near Sherwood Forest available on our cycling pages.
