Cyclists, have a tasty breakfast on us
Yes, that’s right, there’s only a week to go until the Big Wheel’s fabulous annual Wheelie Big Breakfast! This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever, with more activities to keep you entertained and a wider choice of breakfast options for you to enjoy.
The Wheelie Big Breakfast is our chance to show you that cycling’s a great way to start your day. So, we’re asking you to leave your car at home and cycle to work on Wednesday 17th June 2009. As a way to say ‘thank you’ for your efforts we’re putting on a delicious free breakfast to get you fuelled up for the day ahead. All you have to do to take part is cycle to Nottingham’s Old Market Square between 8am and 10am, collect your breakfast voucher and choose from our range of breakfast options, which include hot, cold, vegan and vegetarian alternatives.
If you’ve got a little more time to spare you can enjoy a whole host of free cycling and health related activities: Dr Bike will be on hand to check your bike, you can make a refreshing drink using Blendavenda’s pedal-powered smoothie maker or try out a range of unusual bikes provided by Cyclemagic. You can have a body MOT courtesy of Q-Active, relax with a free massage or chat to people from Nottingham City PCT about healthy eating and the benefits of making a Change4Life.
As usual we’ll have experts on hand who can answer all of your questions about cycling in Greater Nottingham. There will be representatives there from simply loads of organisations, including: The Big Wheel, Nottingham City Council, Nottinghamshire County Council, Ridewise, Nottinghamshire Police, Pedals, Bike to Work, Freewheel and Evans Cycles.
