The Nottingham Children’s Festival – full of exciting things to discover and explore – launches this weekend (1st and 2nd August 2009) at the Riverside Festival.
The hugely successful Children’s Festival is returning, and this year it has the magical theme of “Quest Seekers”.
Running from 1st – 16th August there will be fun, free activities for you and your kids to discover and explore in and around the city. You can journey to the depths of the New Art Exchange for tribal storytelling or zoom over to Brewhouse Yard to make a costume fit for a true hero.
The adventure begins in the Art Zone at the Riverside Festival. Here you can go on a creative journey to the bottom of the sea – making sea monsters, hearing octopus’ tales and learning about life on the ocean floor. The festival continues over the next 16 days in libraries, galleries and there’s even a special Big Wheel activity at Nottingham Castle on 8th and 9th August 2009.
To help you to map out your quest Nottingham City Council, organisers of this spectacular voyage, have put together a special brochure listing dates, times and venues of all the activities. Don’t lose this brochure – you’ll need it to claim your reward for completing your quest! As you journey through the festival, collect the special stickers from participating venues. When you have all five in your brochure go to the Nottingham Tourism Centre, Old Market Square by the end of August to claim your prize.
So if you want to take your kids on a journey to seek countless adventures you don’t need to go far. Simply join in the fantastic Children’s Festival and treat your children to a storybook summer.
