Are you looking for a quick, easy and relatively cheap way to get fit and healthy? Then it’s time to get on your bike – and there’s a series of events taking place at Shipley Country Park to help you do just that.
Every Saturday in October get down to the Park for your chance to try out bike for free! You can take part in training sessions to boost your confidence, or join a gentle bike ride. On the launch day you can get your bike checked, get cycle maps and expert advice – all for free.
What if you don’t have your own bike?
No problem, they’ve got a special free bike hire scheme available so that you can join in the fun. You get to keep the bike for a whole week for free – you just need to take your ID with you and leave a deposit.
This is a great chance to give cycling a go. Regular cyclists enjoy the fitness levels of people up to 10 years younger than their age. So if you take to your bike and keep at it soon you could be feeling more energetic with a real spring in your step. You’ll be protecting your body against lots of nasty health complaints like heart disease and diabetes. And as you get trimmer and healthier you’ll feel better and look great.
If you start cycling to work instead of commuting by car you could save money on petrol and parking. And you might get to the office sooner as you whizz past all the cars stuck in traffic – meaning you could stay in bed just a little bit longer.
Simply put if you get on your bike you could find yourself living a longer, happier and healthier life, so why not give it a try?
