Join the Sustrans campaign running 29th June – 4th July 2009 and start to Change Your World.
From today the national sustainable transport charity Sustrans wants all of you to take a small step to help Change Your World.
All you have to do is pick a day between now (29th June) and Saturday 4th July to leave your car at home and walk, cycle, use public transport or car share instead. And, if you visit their website and tell them that you’re doing your bit, you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win some fantastic prizes. You can even enter if you’re already car-free – just use the same pledge form to tell Sustrans that you’re already doing your bit.
As the Sustrans guys explain going car-free for just one day could make a massive difference:
“Amazingly, if we all take this one small action together car traffic will reduce by ten per cent, giving us healthier journeys, cleaner air and quieter streets.” Sounds lovely, doesn’t it?
